إعتبر اليونانيون أن الآلهة المصرية هي التي علمت البشر فن الفلاحة عندما إكتشفت إيزيس الحنطة و الشعير كما توصل أوزيريس و دائماً حسب النصوص اليونانية القديمة إلى تقنيات زرع القمح و الشعير و الميثولوجيا الإغريقية تنقل لنا ما مفاده " أن أوزيريس الذي لقن الإغريق علم الزراعة تعلم طريقة زرع الحبوب في العربية السعيدة حيث إكتشف لأول مرة الكروم و تذوق الخمر المتخذ منها " .

بالإضافة إلى ذلك فقد كان ثمة إعتقاد أن آلهة اليمن هي التي علمت سكان بلاد الرافدين فن الفلاحة .
